A place where members of the extended Breukelaar family can connect through their shared history and genealogy
This website has been designed as a platform for sharing the incredible book written by Johan Wessel Breukelaar, and published posthumously by his nephew Johan Willem Breukelaar in 1993. Only 80 copies of the original book were ever printed, so I felt it was important to digitise it so that more members of this now global Dutch family can benefit.
Below you will find the original book in Dutch, and a copy roughly translated into English (using the help of AI for expediency, so you will have to forgive me if the language isn’t smooth in places. You should get the gist, however). I recommend clicking on the [full screen symbol] symbol for a full-screen view.
Both copies have basic indexing and are searchable, and the Dutch copy has the additional benefit of an internally linked Index of Names. If you go to the ‘Namenregister’ and find a name in the alphabetical list, clicking on the name of interest will take you to their genealogical information.
